Through the years I’ve learned that getting and staying healthy begins with a healthy gut microbiome. If we don’t have the good bacteria we need in our guts, we can’t digest the food we eat, we can’t absorb the nutrition in that food, we aren’t producing the right amount of neurotransmitters, and our immune system is compromised. As a result, we start to accumulate larger issues both physical and mental, that may seem separate on the surface but are actually all connected. Health is holistic!
My name is Nicole, and I’ve had digestive issues since I was a baby. While I was too young to remember my infant issues, I do remember having stomach aches around the age of seven and staying home from school because of them. My parents eventually took me to the pediatrician, who referred me to a gastrointestinal specialist. Upon examination, he concluded that my stomach aches were “just nerves” and sent me home.

I have tried many things to help with my digestion and have gotten on the right track only to fall off again because of travel, antibiotics, overeating, anxiety, stress, and just life! But I’ve learned a lot along the way by experimenting on myself and I’d like to share that knowledge with you.
Your Pain Is Your Purpose
I know what it’s like to be in pain, to feel fatigued, anxious, depressed, to have acne, to be so confused about what to eat because everything seems like one big contradiction, to have a wide variety of symptoms with no clue about the cause, to miss work and school – I’ve woken up in the middle of the night because of stomach pain and bloating…on and on.

I believe that everyone on earth has a purpose and that is directly tied to the struggles that they face. By sharing your story, you help others with similar pain and experiences. I hope that my experiences help you!
I believe that we should be taking a holistic approach to health. Everything is connected. I would love to show people that there are, of course, remedies and quick tips to help with fast relief. But to get to the root of the problem, we need to be incorporating steady healthy habits that lay the foundation for true health. We need to commit to a new lifestyle – baby-stepping it all the way – that will heal our guts so that we can live our lives with more joy and freedom.
